About Two Track Malting

At Two Track Malting we specialize in turning grain grown in our area and turning it into high quality malt for brewing and distilling.  Our goal is to provide you with ingredients that add to your story by providing you with high quality malt which can be traced down to the exact field where it was grown which we call Field to Pint.  You’re making a craft product and our goal is to provide you with the best craft malt.

Our Farms

Two Track Malting is strategically located where malting grains are grown.  Historically, North Dakota is is the #1 producer in barely in the US and the simple reason is we produce high quality barley year after year.  Two Track Malting uses this to our advantage by being strategically located where malting grains are grown.  This allows us to source high quality grains which turn into high quality malt.  Two Track Malting sources our grains from primarily two farms in ND, Arrow K Farms and Stober Farms.

Arrow K Farms

Owned by Greg and Stacey Kessel, Arrow K Farms is a family operated business just outside of Belfield, ND.  Arrow K Farms started in 1980 and has evolved into a thriving local seed business.  Arrow K Farms produces a variety of crops but focuses on seed production of barley, peas, and wheat.  They have developed their own seed varieties of forage barley, hull-less food barley, malt barley, and hard white spring wheat.  Arrow K Farm’s Brewski 2-Row barley and Astro White Wheat seed varieties are used by Two Track Malting to provide truly one of a kind malts.

Stober Farms

Stober Farms is located in Goodrich, ND and has been growing crops since 1901 and has been actively farming for almost 120 years.  Currently operated by John Stober (4th generation) and Donovan Stober (5th generation) they take great pride in growing barley for Two Track Malting.  Designated a North Dakota Centennial Farm in 2001 is setting the stage for future generations.

Our Malting Facility

Two Track Malting’s facility is located in Bismarck/Lincoln, ND conveniently located between Arrow K Farms and Stober Farms to reduce environmental impact.  Two Track Malting produces up to 15 tons of malt per batch in its 9,000 SF building.  Since we produce in small batches this allows us to tightly control the quality of each and every batch we create.
