from the field
Two Track Malting sources its grains from two North Dakota family farms. Arrow K Farms is a 2nd generation family farm in Belfield, ND and Stober Farms is a 6th generation family farm in Goodrich, ND. We also work with the farms to stay on the cutting edge of bringing new grain varieties to market. Brewski, Brewski 2.0, Astro, and a new GN0 distillers variety are what makes Two Track Malting unique to the malting industry.
Arrow K FArms
Owned by Greg and Stacey Kessel, Arrow K Farms is a family operated business in western North Dakota. Started in 1980, Arrow K Farms has evolved into a thriving local seed business. Arrow K Farms grows a variety of crops but focuses on seed production of barley, peas, and wheat.
Stober Farms
Established in 1901, Stober Farms has a long history of growing various crops on the 6th generation family farm in Goodrich, ND. John and Donovan Stober operate Stober Farms growing Brewski and Buzz barley for the malting company. Stober Farms grew the very first pound of grain used at Two Track Malting when founded in 2015.
Brewski Barley
Brewski two row barley was brought to Two Track Malting through a partnership between North Dakota State University (NDSU) and Arrow K Farms. Brewski was developed for the craft industry with great efficiency, faster lautering, and a nice plump kernel. We are the only ones in the world growing and malting with Brewski making it a truly unique addition to our portfolio.
Astro White Wheat
Arrow K Farms developed Astro White Wheat specifically for the brewing industry. Astro is a hard white wheat which adds more depth when used in craft beer. Instead of getting lost and muddled, the wheat characteristics pop and shine adding a desirable complexity in your wheat beer recipes.
New Projects
Two Track Malting is working on a new GNZero barley variety specifically for the distillers market. This variety was just harvested in 2024 and will make its way into the new malt plant in 2025. Stay tuned.
